Wells Cathedral is nestling at the foot of the Mendip Hills. It is the centrepiece of the medieval City of Wells, the smallest city in England.
Once the home of medieval herbalist Henry Lyte, this late medieval manor house is surrounded by a garden which is an enchanting mixture of formality and simplicity.
Prior Park Landscape Garden, Bath, Somerset
This beautiful 18th century landscape garden is set in a sweeping valley with magnificent views over the city of Bath.
Prior Park was created by local entrepreneur Ralph Allen with the advice of the poet Alexander Pope and Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. It is a haven of peace and tranquillity and offers an enjoyable an invigorating one mile walk (steep in places).
