The house contains an outstanding collection of paintings, including works by Van Dyck, Titian and Brueghel, Egyptian artefacts from 3000BC and the dramatic Spanish Room with walls hung in magnificent gilded leather.
The garden changes throughout the season with snowdrops in February, camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons in spring and floribunda roses in summer. Amble through the parterre, sunken garden, fernery, cedar walk and lime walk.
Wander through 250 acres of wooded parkland with attractive waymarked walks, children’s play area and see the fine herd of Red Devon Cattle. The wider estate is ideal for walking and exploring and is dominated by the Iron Age hill fort at Badbury Rings.
