Discover the wartime secrets of Pendennis Castle. Over 450 years of history are recreated from the castle’s origins as one of Henry VIII's coastal strongholds, to its last military role as a secret Second World War base. A Discovery Centre packed with hands-on activities allows visitors of all ages to get to grips with the past, plus experience the restored underground Victorian and WWII defences complete with sounds and smells of bygone days!
The everyday life of the garrison at Pendennis is brought to life in the War Shelter, whilst the drama of Pendennis at War is shown in the Barrack block displays. Also explore the 16th Century keep, with its lofty battlements and mighty Tudor gun-deck. There is also the First World War Guardhouse, complete with cells. Packed with lots to see and do, the castle is the ideal family visit for a great day out.
