- Terracotta warriors are the 8th Wonder of the Ancient World
- Only museum outside China dedicated to the terracotta warriors
- Ancient Chinese history brought to life
The only museum, outside China, devoted to the 8th Wonder of the Ancient World. Unique museum replicas of the terracotta warriors from China, reconstructions of costumes, armour and multimedia presentations.
The Terracotta Warriors Museum is the only museum outside China exclusively dedicated to the amazing Terracotta Warriors. The terracotta warriors created worldwide fascination when discovered in 1974 at Xian, in China. Now regarded as the 8th Wonder of the Ancient World, the terracotta warriors were guarding the tomb of the First Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi, who lived over 2200 years ago. See unique replicas of the terracotta warriors re-created by museum technicians at the site in Xian.
They comprise of various types including crossbowmen, a charioteer, an officer and a general. The whole group of warriors is extremely impressive and audio programmes inform visitors as to their types and origins. Complementing the terracotta warriors is Qin Shi Huangdi with members of the Royal Guard in fully recreated costumes. A small section of the excavation shows how figures were unearthed. Multimedia presentations tell the story of the warriors and their discovery.
"This museum is incredible, the history is very interesting and is so well presented. I will definitely visit again".
