The Tamar Valley, along with 9 other sites throughout Cornwall & West Devon, was granted World Heritage Status in 2006 for its historically significant Mining Landscape, dating from 1700 to 1914. The area also has a vibrant market gardening heritage, which enjoyed a remarkable boom period that coincided with the arrival of the railway. A number of historic houses and gardens are located nearby, and Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, with their ancient settlements and mining ruins are within easy reach.

All our rooms are en-suite, contain touches of luxury in the important areas, are furnished to a high standard, and have access to our free wi-fi connection. Three course, seasonally influenced meals are available most nights (Nanette is a trained chef). We focus on good quality, locally sourced ingredients, some grown ourselves, and cook them simply, with care and the minimum of fuss. We are licensed, and stock a number of award-winning, locally produced wines, beers and ciders.
